Régie Intercommunale d'Enlèvement des Ordures Ménagères Du Pays Rhénan
For the website of the Régie Intercommunale pour l’Élimination des Ordures Ménagères (RIEOM), I helped redesign and optimize the site, paying particular attention to digital accessibility and following the standards of the Référentiel Général d’Amélioration de l’Accessibilité (RGAA) to ensure an inclusive browsing experience for all users.
My role involved redesigning the information architecture and user interface to facilitate access to essential content (practical information, services, contacts, news) while adhering to accessibility standards, in order to make the site usable by a wide audience, including people with disabilities.
With this in mind, I have incorporated practices such as adding quick-access links, optimizing keyboard navigation, and using improved contrast and typography for better readability. I also made sure that the page layout allowed for clear and smooth reading, while improving the site’s responsiveness on mobile and tablet devices (responsive design), in order to provide a consistent experience across all devices.
This project demonstrates my ability to incorporate accessibility considerations from the design phase onward, by adhering to best practices for inclusive web design and collaborating with stakeholders to validate objectives and deliverables. The ultimate goal was to improve the overall usability of the RIEOM website, while also enhancing accessibility and fostering more effective communication with all users in the region.
